Mademoiselle Maxime
In a world that often seems defined by constraints and limitations, true freedom is a precious concept that many seek to understand and embrace. At a time when authentic creativity is a rare commodity, it is both refreshing and inspiring to meet those who pour their hearts and souls into their craft.
Recently, I had the pleasure of sitting down with my friend to delve into this theme in what was the beginning of a captivating conversation. Mademoiselle Maxime, an artist whose work transcends mere aesthetics and invites us into a deeper conversation about life, passion, and self-expression. We decided while brunching at Hopetoun Tea Rooms in Melbourne’s Block Arcade to record a podcast to capture some of these musings. The result of which are several episodes divided up with the first episode relating to Freedom as experienced and expressed through her art and creative process.

Through her diverse artistic lens, and perspective as a Black American with roots in Chicago and Mississippi, she crafts a narrative that illuminates the connection between creative expression and the pursuit of freedom. As we explored her unique perspectives, it became clear that her art is not just a reflection of her thoughts but a powerful vehicle for liberation, both for herself and her audience. Join me as we embark on a journey through the vibrant landscapes of Mademoiselle Maxime’s creative world, where every poem, painting, and word is a testament to the unyielding spirit of freedom.
The spread I prepared to fuel my guest Maxime and I throughout the course of the podcast recording. Feel free to leave a comment and let us know what you thought of the episode.

At some point in the podcast, these two images of cobblestones will be relevant, so I’ll add them here to remove the mystery.
